The night before a party always hits me the same way. I’m standing in my kitchen at like 10:47 p.m., fridge door open, realizing I promised finger foods but absolutely do not have the energy to cook all day tomorrow.
Friends are texting “what should I bring?” my sink is already full, and I’m mentally calculating how much sleep I can lose and still function.
That’s when make-ahead party foods stop being a nice idea and start feeling like survival.
That’s why I’m a big fan of party snacks you can prep early, stash in the fridge or freezer, and forget about until it’s go time.
These are the kinds of foods you can pull out right before guests arrive and suddenly look very put together, even if you’re not.
No babysitting the oven all night. No last-minute panic runs to the store.
Just easy, solid food that people actually want to eat while standing around chatting and refilling their drinks. If you’ve ever wanted to host without stressing yourself out, this list is for you.
Garlic Butter Pizza Croissant Rolls

This is one of my go-to party favorites! And everyone always loves it.
These Garlic Butter Pizza Croissant Rolls are flaky on the outside, gooey on the inside, and ridiculously easy to make.
Using refrigerated croissant dough instead of pizza dough gives them that buttery, pull-apart texture everyone loves — with classic pizza flavors baked right in. Perfect for game day, parties, or a quick savory snack.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 12–15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Course: Appetizer, Snack
Cuisine: American
Servings: 8–10 rolls
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup mini pepperoni or sliced pepperoni
- 2–3 tablespoons pizza sauce or marinara (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried oregano
- Optional: grated Parmesan for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.
- Add the filling. On the wide end of each triangle, sprinkle mozzarella cheese and add a few pieces of pepperoni. If using sauce, spread a very thin layer so the dough doesn’t get soggy.
- Roll them up. Starting from the wide end, gently roll each triangle toward the point to form a croissant-style roll.
- Brush with garlic butter. Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning, then brush generously over each roll. Sprinkle with Parmesan if using.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed, with cheese melted inside.
- Cool slightly and serve warm. These are best enjoyed fresh while the centers are still gooey.
Make-Ahead Tips for Parties
If you’re making these Garlic Butter Pizza Croissant Rolls for guests, you’ve got a couple easy options.
Option 1: Prep Ahead, Bake Fresh (Best Option)
Assemble the rolls completely, place them on a baking sheet, cover tightly, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When you’re ready to bake, brush with the garlic butter and bake as directed, adding 1–2 extra minutes if needed.
Option 2: Bake Ahead & Reheat
You can bake the rolls earlier in the day, let them cool, then store them covered in the fridge. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes until warmed through. Avoid the microwave if possible, as it can make the croissants soft instead of flaky.
Serving Tip:
If serving at a party, keep them warm on a baking sheet in a low oven (around 200°F) for short periods, or serve in batches so they stay crispy and gooey.
